钢质浮标是航道上常用的助航设施，主要由灯架和浮体组成。根据布设水域不同有浅水浮标、深水浮标、大型海洋浮标之分。浮标规格一般按浮体直径区分，常用浮标有1.8米、2.4米、3.0米；大型浮标主要为5.0米、6.0米、10.0米。浮标上可搭载航标灯、太阳能板、电池箱、顶标等航标器材。一般大型浮标作为助航设施的同时还可搭载其他大型设备用于海洋水文、气象监测等特殊场合。浮标的制造符合《钢质海船入级与建造规范》、《材料与焊接规范》、《海区钢质浮标涂料配套体系及技术要求》、《海区钢质浮标涂装工艺要求》等标准。
